View of front elevations of 19-23 Newington Crescent (south side), Walworth. The crescent was built in 1834-35, and the terraced houses have basements, iron railings and steps to front doors. Next to number 19 is one half of a gateway leading to a yard, with the name Alfred just visible. Newington Crescent was demolished at some point in the mid-twentieth century, and became the site of Newington Estate, a Southwark Council social housing development which is still extant in 2021.
