A view north to Queensbridge Road, Haggerston, from Hackney Road. A telephone box stands on the pavement at the left. The image shows obliquely the front elevations of properties on both sides of Queensbridge Road: numbers 1-15 (odd) on the left and numbers 2-16 (even) on the right, beyond which is the priory of St Saviour's. Numbers 245 and 245a Hackney Road are also visible on the left. A sign on the front elevation of number 245 Hackney Road says it is, or has been, the premises of Samuel Hartog upholstery. A van with its rear doors open is parked in the road and traffic includes a car and a van advertising Slimcea bread. The properties still exist, except the priory, which has been rebuilt on the same site. The telephone box, a K2 type from about 1927, was Grade II listed in 1987, listing number 1235561. Dating from the early nineteenth century, numbers 1-15 (odd) and 2-16 (even) Queensbridge Road were Grade II listed in 1975, listing numbers 1235306 and 1235241.
