Description
A view of the front elevations of terraced houses at 41-47 Argyle Square, King's Cross. Some of the houses are small hotels including the Excelsior, the Devon and the Macdonald. The buildings are seen across an expanse of poorly maintained grass and shrubbery in Argyle Square. A sapling is held up by a support. A young boy leans on the railings at the entrance to the Excelsior. Several cars are parked. The building to the right is Derbyshire House in St Chad's Street. Built in 1840-49, numbers 36-47 Argyle Square and their railings were listed Grade II in 1974, listing number 1247003.
