Description
A view of the first-floor front room of 6 Ampton Place, King's Cross. Sun is streaming through the two, full height sashcord windows. The windows have shutters and pelmets but no curtains. The balcony balustrade can be seen through the windows. Ceiling paint is peeling. There is no bulb in the ceiling light holder. The fireplace has the remains of a broken gas fire and a Victorian surround. The walls are papered and the floorboards are bare. The houses in this terrace date from about 1845-47 and are possibly by William Cubitt. Numbers 4, 5 and 6 were Grade II listed in 1971, listing number 1246994.
