Description
Interior view of staircase and ironwork in 12 Stratford Place, Marylebone. One of a pair of surviving terraced houses on the west side of Stratford House built in 1774 by Richard Edwin. Number 12 and 13 were leased to Chrysalis in 1977 which became one of the world’s leading record and music publishing companies. An extension was built so that there would be room for the producer George Martin’s grand piano. Number 12 was acquired in 2003 as the London centre of the ‘New Age’ spiritual movement of Kabbalah, with money from the singer Madonna. Numbers 12-13 are Grade II listed, listing number 1237137.
