View of Oxford Street, Westminster. Shop fronts, including John Lewis and Company line the street. Originally established in 1864 at 132 Oxford Street as a drapery shop and rebuilt in 1953 following bomb damage in World War II. The larger department store was built at 300 Oxford Street. Pedestrians and horse-drawn carts are visible, one cart has 'Vestry of St Marylebone No 30' on the back.
