Description
Front elevation of Windsor Castle Public House, 27-29 Crawford Place, Marylebone. Built c1832 as the Gloucester Brewery & Beer House. Later renowned for its royal memorabilia and home to the world-famed Handlebar Moustache Club, founded in 1947 by the actor Jimmy Edwards (1920 – 1988). The club met on the first Friday of each month for over 30 years at their permanently reserved table. Closed in August 2016 for redevelopment into luxury flats by a Saudi-based property company.
