Front elevations of 1 and 1a Cato Street, Westminster. Number 1a, built in 1803 as a stable, was the site of the Cato Street Conspiracy, an attempt to murder all the British cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister in 1820. It is Grade II listed in 1974, listing number 1066330. Cato Street was briefly renamed Horace Street to avoid the conspiracy notoriety, but its original name was eventually restored.
