The corner of Bridge Street and Hill Street, Richmond, viewed viewed from the opposite corner of Hill Rise and Ormond Road. Apart from Tower House to the left of the picture at 10-12 Bridge Street (built in mid-nineteenth century by H. Laxton and Grade II listed in 1968; listing number 1358055), which is now a Pitcher & Piano, the shops were demolished in the late 1980s to make way for the Heron Square development. The shops at Bridge Street numbers 1-9 include Louise, Needlewools Ltd, Akbar Restaurant, Andrews & Dalton Ltd, Paul Harding Ltd, and Merlin Cleaners. The Hill Street shops shown are Jackie at number 33, and Rowe at number 31, above which can be seen some older painted advertising. Located in the Richmond Riverside conservation area of Richmond upon Thames.
