"A Common Sergeant late one of the Queen's own"; shows Thomas Denman, dressed as a sergeant but wearing a barrister's wig marches stiffly along a pavement holding an enormous brief: 'Gull v Gudgeon'. Denman had been appointed Common Serjeant in 1822.
