Description
Ornate rainwater hopper head in Horse Guards, Horse Guards Parade, Westminster. Horse Guards was built in the mid-eighteenth century as a barracks and stables for the Household Cavalry, later becoming an important military headquarters. Hoppers are used to increase the capacity of the rainwater downpipe.
