Description
This view looking northwards from the Felsham Road end of The Platt in Putney shows a terrace of labourers’ cottages that once stood to the west side of the lane. They have shallow front gardens and various forms of boundary fence and plantings. Three women in hats and overcoats are shown standing in the lane chatting, one with a basket on her arm. Just visible to the right of view beyond a fenced vacant plot is the hall of The Platt Mission. All these buildings were lost to redevelopment during the early 1960s, The Platt now being a gated estate of residential apartments.
