Description
View of S Silverman & Son, a kosher butcher and poulterer at 254 Mile End Road, Stepney Green, occupying what used to be the Britannia public house. The Star of David is proudly displayed above its door. Established by Solly Silverman in 1931, the butchers moved to this location after World War II. His son took over the business and Silvermans is still trading, albeit from a different location. A W. Rowe lorry is parked at the side and a bicycle is just visible. These buildings do not survive.
