Description
"General View of Caves, Ajunta (sic)"; Ajanta is a village in the hills of central Maharashtra, central India. The area contains 30 caves, the earliest dating from 200 B.C. to 200 A.D which comprise halls and dormitories with walls covered with fresco paintings. The caves were discovered in 1817 and excavated by Buddhists.
